We live in Nashville and built our Lake Malone vacation home in 2013. We enjoy occasional weekend trips to the lake and love sharing it with others. We rent to mature & responsible adults and families. This is our well-cared for family vacation home. If you’re looking for a house to have a big party, this is not the place. We allow up to 2 pets with an additional pet fee ($85 first pet, $40 additional pet). The house has three bedrooms and two baths. It sleeps six adults comfortably, and we have a maximum of six people or eight if some are children. There are two bedrooms, one bath, living room and kitchen with stainless steel appliances on the main level, along with a screened in porch and deck. The lower level has a bedroom with a sliding barn door, bathroom, living area with a couch and futon, and another screened in porch and washer dryer. We also have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, a DVD player and lots of games and books. There is a private dock on the lake with a ladder for swimming. Plus, two kayaks and a gas grill for your use. There are also five chairs for use on the screened in porch, deck or dock. Our house is in the most convenient, walkable location at Lake Malone, only a half mile walk to the Shady Cliff restaurant and marina. It has a fire pit (great for smores) outside and a ventless fireplace indoors. Cozy and quiet, you'll feel right at home here. Great for parents night out or family weekend at the lake, Lake Malone is beautiful and secluded but within a short driving distance (1.5 hours) to Nashville, TN, so easily doable for one night or a weekend or an even longer relaxing visit. The Maya II is right on the water. We have 2 kayaks and a paddle boat you may borrow. We have tons of yards games (ladder ball, volley ball, badminton, etc.) We have a dock so you can bring your own boat (will have to drop it in at marina or state park). Lots of board games too. Granny’s Castle, built in 1912, is a farmhouse located approximately five miles west of Lewisburg, KY. This charming retreat is nestled ½ mile off of Highway 106/Spa Road and offers guests a scenic getaway that is reminiscent of a simpler time. This old farmhouse, endearingly called Granny’s Castle, holds a special place in our family’s history. In 2007, due to health concerns, Granny was no longer able to live alone in her beloved home place. One day, several years later, our two year old granddaughter, Emma, noticing the old house at the end of the road asked, “Is that Granny’s house?” We told her that, yes, although Granny didn’t live there anymore, the house was indeed hers… Emma sweetly replied, “That’s not Granny’s house, it’s Granny’s Castle.” In 2014, Granny passed away at the age of 92. In honor of Granny’s memory, we decided to restore the farmhouse so that our family could continue to enjoy my childhood home for many years to come. We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity and solitude of this newly restored retreat.

When it comes to bathrooms, this campsite comes with a solar camp shower (that will be filled with water and can be hung anywhere around your campsite you feel comfortable) as well as an outdoor camp toilet (you'll line the loo with a provided CleanWaste bag, do your duty, then remove the bag, tie it off, and throw it in the garbage). When you arrive, you'll follow the map provided to arrive at your campsite. Parking will be close by and dogs are always allowed! Do be aware of wildlife such as deer, turkey, and/or birds and possible encounters with potentially dangerous animals such as coyotes, bobcats, and/or poisonous snakes. Do feel free to hang a hammock on the trees and enjoy the shade. Don't cut down or damage trees/timber (we can provide firewood for additional fee). Do ask about visiting the Bald Eagles nest. (schedule a guided hike). Don't damage or attempt to access the eagle's nest (if damages occur, violator is subject to fines and reported to local wildlife authorities). Beautiful large 1800's Victorian Italianate home completely furnished with period antiques for a unique vacation or temporary lease. This house served as a stagecoach inn and tavern in the early 1800’s when it was a 2 story log cabin. It is on the National Registar of Historic Places. The home was once owned by Nimrod Long who was the banker shot by the Jesse James Gang during the robbery of the Southern Kentucky Bank in Russellville on March 20th 1868. The home now boasts 4600 square feet with an additional 500sf of porches and separate garage. It has 5 bedrooms (one king, two queen, three full antique size, and one single bed), all linens supplied. The house has two large covered porches, hardwood floors, a formal parlor, two staircases, two dining rooms, 8 fireplaces, 4 period updated bathrooms, and washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked and updated to a gourmet style.

Our home is a pre-civil war era Italianate style Victorian home furnished with many period antiques. Located one hour north of Nashville in the quiet historical town of Russellville, Logan County, KY. Our property is also known as the Wallace-Byrne Home and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was a Stage Coach Inn and Tavern in the early 1800's. The home is 4600 square feet plus another 500+ square feet of covered porches. It has five (or six) ample bedrooms and beds enough to sleep up to 17 people (all linens included). There are also couches, air mattresses, and sleeping bags. Four bathrooms have all been added over time. The main floor has 10' ceilings with a formal parlor, two dining rooms, and a master bedroom suite. The other bedrooms are located upstairs. The slaves quarters and external kitchen are now replaced with a two car garage. The kitchen is updated to modern gourmet style with stainless steel appliances including Jennair gas stove (two ovens, 6 burners, plus hotplate), dishwasher, and two refrigerators. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pans, utensils, and imperishable food stock for your use. The home is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and seven churches and many other historically significant homes in the Russellville Historic District. Our home historically was on the outside edge of town on what used to be called “High Street” -- which made it quite suitable for being a stagecoach inn and tavern. Now we are in the center of the town on the south edge of the historic district at the foot of the hills. The builder of the original log house (parlor and dining room with loft above) was William Wallace, possible direct descendant of the William Wallace made famous by Mel Gibson in the movie “Brave Heart”. Wallace was appointed Circuit Court Judge in 1807 with a jurisdiction covered 5 counties and some 160 miles. Wallace was a Jeffersonian in politics and was a presidential elector in the National Electoral College in 1808. One of his more famous young attorney apprentices was Joseph Emory Davis, eldest brother of Jefferson Davis who later was the President of the Southern Confederacy. A FORMER OWNER OF OUR HOME WAS SHOT BY THE JESSE JAMES GANG - and lived. This was Mr Nimrod Long the banker who was shot in the head during the bank robbery March 20, 1868 - The James gang robbed the Southern Deposit Bank in Russellville, Kentucky for $14,000. Long & wife purchased our house in 1877 leaving it to his eldest son for $1 in 1881. The Victorian home was originally heated by eight coal fireplaces. You can still see the original coal shoot, including its own little driveway ramp up from the street, at the southwest corner. A young slave was responsible for keeping the coal bins full during winter. You can see the remains of coal throughout the coal cellar located under the Parlor. In the north yard closest to the NE entrance is a Buckeye tree (thought to be over 150 years old). This is the tree made famous by the Ohio State University mascot (but most Ohioans have never seen this kind of tree or its nut). Unfortunately this tree was damaged by a storm in 2010 and only partially stands today. But we still have a bucket of buck-eye nuts. On the north east corner of the property behind the garage by the stone fence is a concrete pad that we understand was approximately where the slave quarters were located. The original kitchen was located about where the garage is today. Consequently, this is an older home with some updated ammenities. Our neighbors are mostly current or retired educators that love history and are very friendly and helpful. Many neighbors are active in the areas historic societies and civil war groups. If your party is really seeking a condo or set of hotel rooms style outing, please do not contact me about renting our house. This is for people who can enjoy the country and appreciate the differences of an older home. Free WIFI Access - After long holding out that the modern era has no place in a pre-civil war home, we installed a new N-Router to provide secured internet service throughout the grounds. If you enjoy the historic aumbiance, you can ignore the wifi -- however, if you need access for work or other reasons...it is now available free with your stay. We have also have a wifi enabled DVD/blue ray player and free NetFlix for our guests to enjoy downloadable movies from a large list of options. We recently added a 'bicycle built for two'. Our Riverside Cabin is nestled in a canopy of trees along the beautiful Barren River. This is a wonderful location for a romantic get-away, or for serenity seekers. We don't have WiFi or cell service, so prepare for an unplugged experience, with nature thriving all around you. We insist our guests enjoy a 5 star experience, so if there's any accommodation you'd like provided, ask, and we'll do everything we can. Our 750+ square foot cabin, with a studio layout, has large glass windows, overlooking the river, in the bedroom and bathroom that allow natural light to shine in. On a clear night the view of the stars is dreamy. Our space is equipped with a full kitchen (except oven), flat screen TV, 7 local channels, and a PlayStation 3 for watching movies or playing video games (there are a few provided). Enjoy amenities such as a full bathroom with a claw foot tub and 32" shower stall, king-sized memory foam bed, water-view dining (inside & out), campsite, bonfire pit (must purchase your own firewood), and a deck with a large table & four chairs. There are also 2 tiki torches that set an amazing ambiance on the patio area (bring tiki torch fuel). We do not provide a grill, so if you would like to grill out while at our location, you'll need to bring your own grill, grilling supplies, etc. Our water frontage has a path cleared, so that you can take in all the river ecosystem has to offer. Perfect for taking a walk, a picnic, meditation, or whatever you'd like (just be careful, for your own safety). :) Relax in a hammock (bring your own), jump in a kayak (bring your own), on-site camping available, fish from several accessible locations (you'll need a KY fishing license), enjoy the river view with provided binoculars through the floor to ceiling windows, or relax in the claw foot tub. Entering the River: If you choose to enter the water, by signing this agreement and renting our place, you are indicating that you understand the inherent danger of the River, and you agree to enter the water at your own risk. There is never a life guard on duty, and enjoying the river by entering the water can be dangerous. The River's water level can rise rapidly, so be careful. There are posted signs that indicate the danger of the River (Swim at Your Own Risk), and we ask that you be mindful, and do not leave trash, nor throw debris into the water. There is a life vest located near the Swim at Your Own Risk signs, to use only in the event of an emergency. We suggest that you bring your own personally fitted life vests if you plan to enter the water. A few things we ask: Make yourself familiar with our cancellation policy. We are committed to keeping consistent with our cancellation policy, so as to treat all guests equally. There is a FIRE EXTINGUISHER under the sink. Use it only if there is a fire emergency. As mentioned above, we have an outdoor fire pit, but ask that you use wood purchased from a local retailer. This is in effort to preserve the forest on the property, and avoid the emerald ash borer from finding its way to our forest from wood brought in from different places. Please do not chop wood on the stone patio, wooden deck, stairs, or concrete areas. If you do so, and damage the property, you will be held financially accountable. Please don't pour grease in the sink, please don't leave the cabin door open, please don't allow pets traveling with you on the bed or other furniture (be familiar with our pet policy - $10 per pet per day), and please do not flush any toilet paper down the toilet (old septic - use the trash can provided for all bathroom paper products). We have a Keurig, but do not have a traditional coffee maker. So, bring your K-Cups. =)

Stagecoach Inn was built as a relay house and stagecoach stop by Major John P. Gray in 1833. Original name was Gray's Inn and served as a stop for patrons such as Andrew Jackson, Jenny Lind, Thomas Daly Rice and Jesse James. It is also known as a stopping point along the Trail of Tears where White Path drank from the well and named it "Utok Amawak." Our spacious two story house located in a safe and quiet neighborhood with great landscape view will be the perfect choice for your vacation stay. As a parent with small kids ourselves, we traveled quite a bit and stayed at many places. We have a ‘wish list” of things to have during our vacation and considered them into making our home as much as family-friendly as possible. -Plenty of space for kids to roam around. -Toys, books, movie,games and a back yard playground to keep them busy. -Bed rail, white noise machine, soft , cozy blankets to help them sleep better. -Inflatable tub, baby shampoo, bubble bath soap, bath toys to make bath time more fun. -Snacks available for that hungry moment such as : cookies, crackers, cereals, fruits, pancake (of course, you’ll have to make them.) -Kids dishware items so you don’t have to worry about breaking them. Herbs, olive oil/cooking oil,vinegar, salt/sugar/pepper provided. -Big dining area with plenty of chairs can seat up to 14 people on main level. Kitchenette has dining table for 4. -Spacious and cozy family room makes great conversation space. Enjoy outside landscape through a big window in our living room. We have a big selection of books for you to read and a piano for you to show off your musical talent. -Loft area upstairs has lots of movies to watch and board games to play. -Private patio with screen room, gazebo and deck.
